NEO lab is the lab of Professor Kim Woojin at collage of Korean Medicine of Kyung Hee University, which conducts research on neuropathic pain, cognitive dysfunction, depression and anxiety. In particular, we focus on the role of inhibitory interneurons and signal processing in the S1-PFC neural circuit, investigating how functional changes in these circuits influence neurological disorders and behavior.
Our lab utilizes optogenetics and multi-modal patch clamp techniques to analyze precise interactions between neurons and glial cells. Additionally, we study neuropathic pain models induced by neurosurgical procedures or chemotherapy, examining circuit-level changes and behavioral alterations to explore effective therapeutic strategies.
